  1. Feet and ankles. Foot position is fundamental – they directly control the direction and tilt of the board. It is important to keep your feet slightly bent, as this allows for precise shifts of weight forward, backward or sideways.
  2. Knees. The knees act as a shock absorber. They should be slightly bent so that you can flexibly react to changes in water pressure.
  3. Hip. The hips are the center of body balance. Their stable position helps maintain a straight line between the upper and lower body. Moving the hips in the right direction can correct board tilt.
  4. Torso and arms. The upper body must be straight and the arms slightly relaxed. Excessive tension in the arms or their sudden movements can disrupt balance.
  5. Head and vision. Looking forward, not down, helps maintain stability. The head directs the body – where you look, you naturally shift your center of gravity.
